What are the problems with DVDs on PS2s?

I've never encountered a problem playing DVD's in the PS2. The DVD movie player is software based, and has to be installed from a disc, but works nicely.

In most cases the PS2 does not have any problems with DVDs (of course if they are not scratched or in bad shape ). The main problem on the ps2 when reading DVDs is the optical lens. If it is broken then you must change it , or the ps2 will not be able to read any DVD/CD.

Some problems with using DVD's with the PS2 is that some DVD's will work. The one's that usally dont work for the PS2 are the DVD's that are "bootleg" or burnt DVD's are the usally the problems for them not to work. So if you are still having problems using the DVD's then I would Call the Support Group
