What are the most useful things to buy for a new baby?

I guess technically, they're for the parents. New babies seem to need so much stuff, but what are the things that are super important?

The things that I couldn't live without are, a car seat, a sling, a swing (great for naps) and a pack and play with a changing station! Also the basics, like diapers and clothes.

For clothing, a newborn will get the most use of sleep gowns and onesies. You will need a lot of diapers and a pacifier. For equipment, make sure to have a bassinet, swing and a rocking chair for yourself! There is much more you should have.
