I once heard of a lawsuit who was breaking into someone's home through a sky light, which was in the kitchen. As he was climbing in, he slipped and fell, and landed on a butcher knife that was on the kitchen counter. It cut him pretty badly, and he sued the owners of the house for unsafe conditions.

There are many, but the most outrageous would have to be the customer who sued Mcdonald's over hot coffee. come to find out, the lady was faking injury.

A guy from Kentucky drove to DisneyWorld with his family. While there, he collected several pounds of tiny red berries from the shrubbery lining the walks around his hotel. He snacked on the berries on the drive back and died when he got home. His wife sued Disney, the landscaper, nursery and the county in which DisneyWorld is located.

Among the most memorable: the woman who sued when she burned herself by holding a cup of McDonald's coffee between her thighs; the suit filed by the family of the man who died after pigging out on the poison berries he collected from ornamental shrubbery at Disneyworld; woman suing Keanu Reeves claiming he used hypnosis to change paternity test results

I would say the coffee lawsuits filed by people against McDonald's fastfood. An idiot ought to know that coffee is sold scalding hot or if it wasn't you would send it back. It just seems like there should be no excuse on the consumer's part because some things you just know.
