Cicada killer wasps dig holes in lawns, flower beds, and gardens, among other places. Many other wasp species have underground homes. Some bee species live underground as well as some hornets. Cicada killers leave a horseshoe shaped mound of dirt at their entrances. They are always looking for locusts to devour.
