The four branches are astronomy (the study of objects in the universe located outside the Earth's atmosphere and gravitational pull), oceanography (the study of Earth's oceans and how they affect the planet), geology (the study of the Earth and the processes that continuously change it), and meteorology (the study of understanding and predicting Earth's weather).
