What are the end stages of life?

I have a family member in Hospice and would like to know what occurs at the end, when they are close to passing?

They will stop eating, then drinking, and one sure last sign is that the bodily function of urination also stops completely. You have my condolences.

One thing that often hapens is rapid breathing. Once this starts the person has a few hours left depending on the strength of their heart.

The end stages of life are different for some but alot share the same result. As the system shuts down the body becomes dehydrated and full of toxins. Mant people experience hallucination type effects caused by the release of chemicals produced by the pineal gland, the same gland that causes dreams.
