How long does end stage Alzheimer last?

Unfortunately, this can be an extended period of time and can last for years until other health conditions end the life.

There is no clear answer you this question, unfortunately. Late stage Alzheimers can last anywhere from a matter of months to three years. It calls for a new strategy, and perhaps an expanded care team.

It's hard to say how long the end stage lasts. My grandma has had Alzheimer's for the past 8 years and is now in the end stage. She cannot walk well, feed herself, use the bathroom, or even make coherent words. Alzheimer's is not what the patient dies from... it will be from some other illness.

If the patient has stopped eating and drinking with no gag reflex how much longer can we expect them to live?
