First things first. Take a pregnancy test if your period is overdue. If you are not pregnant but you haven't had a period for a while it may be perimenopause. If you're approaching 50 your body is getting ready to take a break! Ask your doctor for more details.

If you are pregnant, your period has stopped because you have conceived. If you are pre-menopausal, your period has stopped because your body did not release an egg or the hormone levels are too low to have a menstrual cycle.

Simply, being premenopausal means your periods get irregular, sex drive decreases, and fatigue. Being pregnant means morning sickness, swollen ankles and feet, and fatigue as well.
