Coniferous forests are fragile as any ecosystem, where food for large animals is always scarce. It can be disrupted by deforestation, which in turn causes issues of starvation and homelessness for animal residents. Too-cold weather prevents the decay on pine needles on the forest floor, creating poor quality soil. Acid rain damages plants, making them vulnerable to disease.

The forest is effected by everything we do. iIs growth and health are affected by the air and water it needs to survive and by humans who misuse it.

One issue is over harvesting or clear cutting. Another is creating a monoculture when they are replanted. Also there is the damage acid rain is doing them in some places.
