It depends what model vehicle you have, different manufactures use different colors. but generally red is your power wire (12v) and the green and yellow wire is the ground wire. Besides that it all depends on manufactures.
Automobile wiring codes are blueprints which show which wires are connecting each electrical system and its path. Different automobile makers sometimes use the same color for different items. Any electrical work needs this blueprint.
