If you are looking for energy savings along with clean stlye an induction cooktop is the way to go. GE offers a induction cooktop (insert into counter top) as well as an induction cooktop as part of a freestanding range. Big advantage of induction is faster cooking times with no surface heat.

Induction cooktop ranges are the best. They are the easiest to clean and maintain. They are usually the more expensive. The extra cost over time will be worth it!

I like my glass top stove. It cleans very easy and you do not have to remove burners and clean pans. Also it has a function that tells you when your stove top is cool.

If money is no object you can't beat the high end induction ranges such as the Kenmore Elite or Viking Professional series. Induction ranges are as fast and easy to control as gas while making cleanup a lot easier since all you have to do is wipe a glass surface. You have to use steel or iron cookware though.
