What are the best clippers to use on dogs?

I would like to cut back my dogs hair myself but want to make sure I do not injure him.

The Oster A5 Clippers are really nice. I think, for the money the two speed clippers are worth the price. The blades are removeable and you need several different sizes to do a nice job on your pet. The smaller the blade size the closer the trim.

They make special hair clippers for dogs. Really though these are just a waste of money. Go to the store and get a $7. 00 pair of clipper for people. Use one of the attachments and you cannot hurt him. You just need to stay way from the webbing between his toes.

Always use pet clippers, not human clippers, on animals. If the dog is nervous when his feet are touched then cut a little at a time, making sure to take a break every few minutes to ease his stress and always make sure the clippers are not getting too hot so that he doesn't get burned.

If you have a long haired dog and you just want to cut the hair a little shorter you can use shearing scissors which you can find at the pet store. If you're shaving your dog get dog clippers, which you can also find at the pet store. They have guards so you don't hurt the dog.
