It is impossible to improve on the vintage look of handmade valentines made with lacy white doilies. Add simple die-cut hearts and students will be thrilled with the results.

A good craft I remember as a kid was Butterfly Hearts. Using colored paper for the wings, google eyes and fuzzy wire. Cut the shape of wings out of paper, glue together your heart shape. Use markers for extra decoration on wings. Glue on eyes and fuzzy wire antennas.

Buy white paper doilies and red construction paper. Cut them into heart shapes. Take a photo of the child and print on the printer and glue on the red heart that is glued to the white doilie.
