Decorate a coloring page that has a dove on it. And then have you and your child practice writing the letter D for dove. Then have your child use fingerpaint to decorate it. You can also use craft feathers, seeds for eyes, beads, and anything you can think of! Use your imagination.

Do the cutting for paper hearts. Get stickers or crayons for the children to decorate. Add bits of yarn for hanging or decorating.

At that age, simple tracing and cutting are good challenges. Learning to fold a piece of paper in half to cut a heart may be fun but too challenging for smaller preschoolers. Glueing pre-cut hearts to drawings they make would be easy and fun. Consider having children draw people they love or who love them.

You can have the children bring in a tissue box or shoe box to decorate. Paint their hands red and stamp onto a paper in a heart shape, then attach a poem. Have them paint hearts and when it is dry they can glue candy wrappers on it, such as Hershey Kisses.
