You could carpet the basement and for walls for adults you could do blue and brown polka dots or pink and brown polka dots. You could do stripes for the walls for the adults. The bathroom could have bubbles on the wall, but you could make them grown up looking.

Considering sectioning off certain areas of the basement (the bathroom is a must) with walls or other dividers to make each individual space more personal. The basement would be a practical space to put an entertainment center since its location makes it easier to make accommodations for soundproofing. A bar or snack area for entertaining is also a good idea.
