Before the widespread use of plastics in manufacturing toys, children played with traditional toys such as: wooden blocks, handmade fabric dolls, marbles, Jack-in-the-box, skipping ropes, paper planes and tin models to name a few. Many of the play-things were not mass-produced but made with everyday objects and materials plus a little imagination.
