What are some suggestions for saving wet carpet?

If a small area of the carpet got wet, pull it back and then lift the pad from the floor and put some soup cans under it to allow the pad to breath. If a large area is soaked through, it is likely that you will have to replace it.

rent a steam cleaner, you can get one at all winn dixie grocery stores. suck all the water out and put a fan in the room to help dry faster.

Get out as much water as you can as soon as you can. If it is feasible, lift the carpet off the pad that is underneath it. Keep fans on it and as much warm dry air as possible moving over it to dry it quickly and it should come out fine.

Pull up the carpet and run a fan to help it dry without molding. Run a dehumidifier until the carpet is dry. Use a shopvac to suction up the water.
