What can I do about mildew and odor on a wet carpet?

You should sponge the carpet with soap and some disinfection liquid specially produced for carpets, leave the carpet wet with the chemicals for a while, then sponge it with clean water and put on heating to dry the room. When the carpet is completely dry, ventilate the room. If the mildew persists repeat the procedure again. Keep the room dry.

First, get all the dampness out of the carpet that you can. Next, clean the carpet with carpet cleaner that is specifically for mildew treatment; bleach will kill the mildew, but will also discolor your carpet. Finally, reduce the humidity in the carpeted room; you may need a dehumidifier.

Pull out carpet and dispose of it. If flooring under the carpet is also wet or mildewed, dry it out and lightly spray bleach on it to kill all mildew.

If the carpet is wet we can keep it in the direct sunlight for two days so that the carpet will be fresh. if we keep it in the sunlight which will be very effective so that the insects will be destroyed which will protects us from the diseases. This is also one type
