Honestly, just try to draw the person in with something. For example, if you are at a bar and a game is on, ask the man/woman a question about it. It's usually better to try to share a common interest than use a cheesey line.

As a woman who has heard them all, please, please, enough with the pickup lines. Be sincere, be your self, be real. That is so refreshing and very attractive. I feel like the guy is interested in me, not just in picking me up to get in my pants.
