Short hair looks good straight, curly or wavy but I think the best is wavy. If you have any natural wave in your hair, play it up with a saltwater spray and some bodifying mouse. If not, you can get a body wave for your hair at a salon. Just remember that you can't reverse a perm.

Depending on the shape of your face, but i would usually go with the wave perm, it produces little waves through out your whole head, its gives you more options to style your hair, that sprial perm or just a straightening perm.

When I was growing up, my mother and grandmother gave eachother perms about 3 times a year. They both had very short hair. My grandmother in particular always said that the perm was not ready until the hair pulled away from the curling rod in an "S" shape. S perms are the best!

Many people uses perms to add curl and wave to their short hair. If you like to add curl to a small portion near your face, then use spot perm.

On short hair, you want to choose a perm that won't get too poufy like a body wave or large, bouncy curls.

A gentle wave looks good on short hair, or spiral curls a la Shirley Temple. You might also try a straight perm.
