You could have a game day with all kinds of activities, maybe some performances done by the kids. You charge money for tickets.

Calendar raffles are very successful. Raffle tickets are sold and the buyer gets a chance to win every day for a month. Some days are worth more than others and some days you can win prizes. People like that they can win more than once.

Eveyone LOVES help with manual labor, therefore, car washes and lawn mowing are great ways to raise money in a way that also "helps" the person that is doing the purchasing. Luminaries are easy to make and everyone loves to use those for decorating, not only during the holidays but also on cool summer evenings.

Boy Scouts can raise money by holding a car wash. The boys can offer Scouts Honor Detailing or some other catchy titled service. Doing an excellent job washing the cars will garner tips from customers.

Many organizations are turning to selling donuts and coffee, other options would be popcorn, candy and or services. The Boy Scouts could raffle offer to clean yards, wash cars or help around the house for donations.

A read-a-thon or fun run that people can sponsor boys for, obviously something like a bake sale can work too, or doing an Odd Jobs week around the neighborhood, though that might not be ideal in terms of supervision.
