The best "getting to know you" questions on a first date are the simple non invasive questions such as what are your favorite foods and activities or where did you go to school or what type of work do you do?

I find that some of the best "getting to know you questions" are not personal question but just fun questions. For example "If you had were given a million dollars what would you do? " or "If you could do anything you wanted what would it be? ".

Family questions are always good, how many there are in the family and where they all are. Pets are good story starters and so is childhood and work or school.
