The Ziploc brand makes plastic storage bags which are made specifically for storing food in the freezer. These bags are supposed to prevent freezer burn in foods. You can also purchase a seal-a-meal type machine which encloses the food in a plastic bag, while sucking out any air and making the package air tight.

Zip-loc bags where you take care to get all the air out work well, as does the vacuum sealers that are becoming more popular. Limiting air is the main thing.

It is best to store food in air-tight containers for freezing. These might include plastic tubs with tight-fitting lids such as Tupperware brand or Rubbermaid brand containers. Some companies manufacture heavy-duty plastic bags that are also suitable for frozen food containers. Metal containers, so long as the metal has a protective coating on it, can also be effective.

Plastic bags are good freezer container for food. Some solid food can be stored in a plastic bag. If it is not solid food then it is better to keep them in boxes, either plastic or glass, and store in freezer. I use storage products from tupperware company and it works fine.

You can store food in the freezer in any airtight container, whether glass or plastic. Paper or plastic that is not airtight is not good storage.
