Yes, it is. All puppies, and all ages, will prefer canned to dry because of the "open juices." In other words, canned food is moist, emits a strong smell, and doesn't take a lot of effort to chew in order to be satisfied. It is good to give your puppy soft food at first though since it will be teething.

I would suggest that you try mixing the canned food with dry food so that your puppy gets used to eating the dry. Slowly add less canned until they are eating just dry. Dry food is much better for their teeth and often helps them feel more full so that weight problems are less of an issue.

Canned puppy food is just as good as dry food as long as you are getting one that contains all of the vitamins and nutrients your dog needs.

From a nutrition standpoint the canned food is equally nutritious as the dry food. However, it is important that your puppy eat dry food frequently as it is much better for your puppies teeth. If your puppy prefers the canned food try mixing it half and half with dry food. Mix it together well and your puppy will eat it.

Dry food and wet food are both good for your puppy. I usually have dry food out and once a day my dogs get a can of wet.
