Is a bottom-freezer refrigerator a good choice?

I also had a top freezer and now I have a bottom freezer. I find that I dig for food no matter if its top or bottom. Side by sides don't hold as much. I would still go with the top.

Having a bottom freezer can have its advantages. Most people are only in the refrigerator area, so this would be more convenient for them. However, if you do need to pull something out of the freezer you will be putting more strain on your back.

Typically the answer is no, a bottom-freezer refrigerator has many downfalls. If a food item in the refrigerator was to spill, the effects would go downward, straight into the freezer section. Crumbs, drippy containers, and/or leaking milk cartons can happen at anytime. Stick with a top freezer!

I personally prefer the bottom-freezer type. I find they have more room and are easy to fit wide items in where with top freezers, a pan of lasagne, a cake, and ice cube trays and thats about

I currently have a freezer bottom and I do like it. It is good if you do not freeze a lot of things and you use your refrigerator more.

I like the freezers that are on the bottom of a fridge, the ones at the bottom are easier to put your items in and Frozen items usually weigh more than refrigerated items.

Yes, they are a good choice, becuase they provide easy access to foods. Food is more readily accesible. Also,children old enough to cook their own 'microwave dishes' will be able to access the food. In addition,as the fridge is easily accesible, it is open less so saves on energy usage.

Freezers on the bottom are absolutely great. I used to worry about putting heavy things up top in case the kids opened the door and something was loose. Now with this I don't have to worry about that, and I can also arrange the food in such a way they I have less chance of freezer burn.
