Carrots, peas,and green beans are good for your pet. As are apples, blueberries, grapes/raisins just to name a few. These are good treats to offer a pet prone to extra weight gain.

As a general rule, dogs should not eat any fruits or vegetables as so many are toxic. It is easy to get them confused.
