What are some exercises to improve mental focus?

I can't stay focused during the day.

A great exercise to improve mental focus would be to do yoga. It calms you down and lets your brain rest for a while and that allows you to focus on one thing instead of occupied by many thoughts. There are also breathing exercises that help a lot to improve mental focus.

Meditation and yoga helps you to built up your concentration ability. If you can't stay focused anymore, try to take a small break and refresh yourself. Always try to avoid monotonous work, do some other different tasks inbetween. Lot of managers even take a mini power-nap (not longer than 15 minutes) after lunch, which seems to help them to concentrate.
