Pomeranians are dogs that love the attention of humans. With that said they are also capable of manipulation by faking emotions to make humans feel bad for them. This is so that discipline is harder to administer. don't worry be a good pet owner and train your pet properly. It will be better in the end.

With any breed, you need to make sure you start training early. Curb your dog's habit of barking right away as the Pomeranian likes to bark a lot. They can also be bossy, so ensure your training is fair and stern. Pomeranians sometimes don't get along with other dogs, so group training may be out of the question.

These are social dogs, so consider a companion dog which will help calm their energy and barkiness. Because they are so active, take the dog for long walks. Toy breeds can be harder to train, but use positive reinforcement rather than punishment. This works better with Pomeranians.

Pomeranians are a fickle type of dog that will not listen to your commands unless you mean them. You need to assert your dominance quickly and let it know who's boss.

The two critical parts of training an animal (from goldfish to Pomeranian) are timing and consistency. You have to communicate immediately when the dog does something right. Teaching the dog to associate a reward with a clicker is the first step. Then making sure you click immediately when the dog does what you want. Be consistent with what you reward.

Pomeranians are very smart and headstrong. You have to be very consistant or they will not listen to you. It's also important to socialize them while they're still young.

Pomeranians are highly intelligent and animated and although small in size, can dominate you completely. They are beggers for table scraps and this should not be allowed.

One of the first training experiences a Pomeranian should have is "respect training". This means teaching your dog to respect you. Respect training is much better than obedience training.

You should start early, so they understand what to do. They are energetic dogs, and need to have space to move around, even in a crate.
