What are some careers you can have in legislation?

I mean besides elected office.

In legislation there are plenty of careers that one would be capable of participating in. Judges, bailiffs and court stenographers are all making a career out of the legislative process. A lawyer is also a common example of a legislative employee. Even the janitor that cleans the halls of the senate has a career in legislation.

A number of positions in legislation exist besides elected office. Examples include: advisers to legislators, secretarial staff, legal counsel, constitutional and judicial consultants, senatorial page, and personal assistants. All revolve around providing assistance to a legislator.
