The characteristics of a large boat differ in place to place however there is an international standard for telling if your boat is large or not and that is as follows, Whence the water craft's berth doth exceed 20 feet is is labelled as a large boat, so over twenty feet is large.

A large boat can have a number of meanings. I suppose anything over thirty feet would be considered large. At some point you would drop the term boat for ship.
