Try a party at a science museum. Video arcades are always huge hits, and many of them have party rooms. 12-year-olds love amusement park parties. Bowling parties are easy - just set up the refreshments behind the lanes on long tables, and it won't feel like a "little kid party. " Paint ball parties are always huge hits, but they're expensive.

You can book parties at your local arcades. These places often have things like laser tag. Laser tag is a really fun and relatively safe. However if you trust your child with a paintball gun you can also take him for a paintball party. If they wear the proper protection they won't get hurt.
