Make sure that the power button has been turned on. Identify that the power is on by the warming up of the system. Check to make sure that all cables and componets (plugs) are properly connected to the TV and the game console. After that check to make sure the TV is on the right channel or video source.

Test the power outlet with a different device. Double check to make sure the power cable is properly plugged in. Make sure the power switch is set to ON; it is located at the back of the machine. Look for any lights and listen for unusual sounds.

You can go to playstation. com to find information. But makesure everything is plugged in. You can also open up the ps3 and take out it's hardrive and look up youtube tutorials to make sure every thing about the harddrive fits the description. Another way is turning it off and on a couple times.
