Instead of purchasing a whole yard of grass you can create a yard by using a cheaper alternative with plant plugs. These are tufts of grass that you can plant to create a yard with lest cost then if you were to buy a roll of grass to plant. All you do is place them in your yard and water.

They are just a little thing that you stick in the dirt with the plant some are fertilizer others are to keep bugs away they have a ton of different ones.
