A freeride bike is a new way of mountain biking. Freeride combines downhill and dirtjumping and other aspects to make freeriding one of the most popiular forms of mountain biking.

Freeride Bikes are bikes that have been modified downhill bikes which utilize gearing that facilitates going up and down the hill. Due to lighter weight and slightly less supsension travel that makes these bikes good for "technical" sections of downhill riding.

Freeride bikes are basic, rugged, plublic bikes that are available for everyday use to the public for a small fee. They are usually found in bike-friendly cities and can be picked up at a kiosk either with cash or with a membership cash card. There are several locations throughout the city and you can pick up and drop off anywhere.

Freeride bikes are designed to be lighter, flexible versions of moutain bikes. Whereas mountain bikes are designed for downhill competition; freeride bikes can go uphill and also through obstacle courses.
