Depending on the area in which you live, common diseases that affect peaches include leaf curl, brown rot, bacterial spot and powdery mildew. Peach trees are also very susceptible to several insects and mites that are common in the United States. An effective insect and disease management program is an absolute necessity.

Brown rot - decays fruit on tree and after harvest; Peach scab - occurs when an early protective fungicide agenda was not maintained; Anthracnose (crater rot) - continues after harvest and when the decay becomes advanced it results in a grayish black coloring of the peach's skin.
