What advise can you give me for growing out my hair color?

You could try to dye your hair back to it's original color which would probably be the cheapest route as you would be correcting the color.

To avoid unsightly roots, at the next six week point get a hair glaze in the color of your natural color. This will increase shine and health, too.

It will go through many stages and probably take awhile. During the first couple months, you'll probably want to get streaks or highlights of different colors, to blend the colors gently. Trim it often to ensure healthy grow since much damage has probably occurred.

If you don't mind having your roots be a different color from the tips of your hair, just let it grow. If you do care, you might try washing your hair frequently with non-color protecting shampoo. Washing the hair will cause the color to fade more quickly.
