What advice can you give to someone going on their first red eye flight?

I will be traveling for business soon and have been booked on a red eye flight.

Make sure that you pack things that will help you to sleep on the plane, such as earplugs and eye masks. Many airlines do not provide these any more. Don't be tempted to watch the movie - sleep when you can. If you have a hotel room to go to when you arrive, try to nap when you arrive.

Try to sleep on the plane as best as you can. Get up early the morning of the flight and bring a blanket and pillow to be more comfortable.

Do not stress yourself on the departure day. Try to get a much sleep as you can in the morning. Do not be late for the flight. Sleep during the flight. Drink coffee in the morning, enjoy the time change.

We fly overnight often and the absolute must here is to try to sleep as close to your regular schedule as possible. I often take a sleep aid as soon as we take off so that I can block out the noise and discomfort. Depending upon the length of your flight, you can get a decent sleep doing this!
