Ear thermometers are good because they give a pretty fast result compared to one that you use in your mouth. On the negative side, an ear thermometer is not as accurate as an oral one.

Doesn't really matter. There's not much significant difference between the two of them. Go with whatever is more convenient and good for you.

An ear thermometer can be easier to get a reading on, however, an oral thermometer is more accurate. The most accurate thermometers are anal.
