Aloe Vera should absolutely be applied to burns. Aloe is a very traditional remedy and cooling salves meed from the plant have been shown to be highly effective in soothing pain and promoting healing. If you are seeking alternative methods due to allergic reactions, honey has proven to be highly effective in clinical trails.

Aloe vera is a good treatment for first and second degree burns only. A third degree burn would require definately a trip to the emergency room. There is no amount of aloe vera thats going to help that situation. Aloe vera and neosporin with bandages will be all you need for minor to moderate burns.

It is fine and safe, though if the burns are very severe (more than second degree) this won't really help much. The aloe vera will aid with healing and provide a sort of cool feeling to relieve a little of the pain. You can apply it a couple of times a day.
