If you have an outbreak on your mouth, you should refrain from oral sex. To be safe, you might not want to kiss your partner until it is cleared up. It is very easily tranferred from person-to-person when there is an outbreak present. Better to be safe!

Yes you should be worried and so should your boyfriend. Having cold sores when performing sexual acts can lead to Herpes, so always be careful even if your not sure if what you have is a cold sore.

It depends on the cause of the cold sores. Cold sores can by a symptom of herpes, which, of course, could be transferred. However, cold sores can also be caused by a variety of other things, including stress. Only your doctor can tell you for sure if you are contagious.

Your cold sores are a symptom that you carry Herpes Simplex Virus 1. Typically, the cold sore virus is not the cause of genital herpes. However, your partner's genital herpes can be transmitted to you orally and can infect your eyes.
