A person can have a low blood count for numerous reasons and the solution is 2 part; eliminate the bleeding, and provide replacement blood if necessary. If a person has chronically low blood counts they are considered anemic and may need to take iron supplements as well. Most of the time your body will replace blood on its own.

Your doctor will be able to tell you what the next step is. You will probably need to undergo some more tests. You may even need to see a specialist. If you are unsure at any point you should ask for a second opinion. It is very common to undergo a second opinion.

It is important to know if it is your red or wite blood cells that are low. If it is your red cells that are low, eat a nutrient rich diet and don't become exhausted. With a low white blood cout, you are prone to infection. Wash your hands frequently. Most important, see your doctor about this.

Your Doctor will need to determine what has caused this low blood count. Many treatable and minor illnesses can cause a low blood count, which may be easy for the doctor to find. However, a low blood count can indicate more serious disorders and could require intensive medical tests and treatment.

I think the doctor might have to put you on meds. But not real sure. You will have to ask the doctor to know for sure what to do about it.
