First, check if it boots while connected to the mains, it could just be the battery has failed. If that doesn't help, take the battery out and try to boot from the mains. If this fails, then then you will need to consider a laptop repair or a replacement.

Make sure the power cable is working (with a multimeter). Try powering without the battery, and with just the battery. Temporarily remove components (extra RAM, CD Drive, Hard drive, USB devices... etc). Check the manual for a protocol for non-power issues. Use the CMOS reset if there is one.

replaced your dead laptop battery and it still won't power up- perhaps your transformer (AC adapter went bad). If your laptop overheats, something is definitely wrong. Also, turning it on as you did immediately after it overheats rather then letting it cool down is also definitely wrong. I suggest you see if you can have it looked at by a computer store.

First check the power connection, is it seated firmly? If that doesn't work then press and hold the power button. It's possible your OS is stuck and the whole system just needs to reboot. If neither work then take it to your local computer store for a power supply test.

Make sure the outlet you are plugging into is fine. Your power adapter is probably broken. It is most likely the cable that goes to the computer.

i'll connect the charger to it & will give the supply... or re-insert the battery in the laptop. I'll check the power button that i have pushed it or not...
