If your baby is under three months old and has a fever over 100. 4, you should call your pediatrician immediately. In an older baby, look for clues like inconsolability, lethargy, not eating and drinking,or if the child is not urinating well. In the event of any of these symptoms, contact your pediatrician immediately.

Absolutely. Its very important to stay on top of high fevers because they can cause brain damage if the fever is VERY high, or if untreated.

They say you should monitor the child closely if the fever is that high, and call the pediatrician if it rises or doesn't go away in two days.

If a normal dose of motrin or tylenole does not bring your childs fever down in a reasonable amount of time you should contact your doctor. In addition if the childs fever returns prior to four hours you should call your doctor.
