No, because it is so easy to get burnt out and stop caring about school. When you have a summer vacation, you can refresh for the next year. The break also gives you something to look forward to.

Yes. When there is a long break over the summer, students who don't have a lot of academic support at home lose ground because they don't practice what they know. They have to relearn a lot at the beginning of the new school year. Summer break was created in farming communities but is no longer necessary.
