Weight loss during pregnancy is risky because it will effect the growth and development of the fetus. It will not benefit the mom in any way. Eat less to minimize weight gain.

If you are overweight, there is no risk while losing weight at a slow pace. If of a normal weight, do not try to lose weight unless your doctor recommends it. If underweight, do not try to lose weight while pregnant. If you are losing weight without effort, contact your doctor.

Possibly, if your losing a lot of weight. The fetus is going to use up a lot of your calories, so you probably shouldn't diet. If you can't keep food down, you should consult with your doctor.

Watching your weight during pregnancy is more important and healthier than trying to lose weight. My mother went on a diet while carrying me and I've had health challenges.

Yes. The reason for this is because while you are losing weight, you are not giving accurate data to your doctor on the baby's development. As well as you might be losing weight because you might be starving yourself since the baby takes a lot of your nutrients when you eat your food.
