Is wallpaper coming back in style?

As a wallpaper contractor of 17 years, I can tell you that wallpaper absolutely is coming back and better than ever. The patterns and colors are fresh and will do for a room what paint cannot. New non-woven wallpapers can be removed just by peeling it off the wall.

Today people look at houses as an investment instead of a home. I put textured wallpaper up knowing that when we sell our house ill remove it. But I wouldn't let that stop me from making my home a place i was to be in while im living there.

Wallpaper can be very nice and makes a room much more inviting that many of the paints. I love to see a bedroom with wallpaper and even some of the bathrooms. Love the textured wallpapers. I think it is time to bring it back.

I think it is coming back in style, but not the same types of wallpaper that you might be used to. There are all sorts of new wallpapers with cool textures and finishes. You don't even know that they are wallpaper when you look at them.

Wallpaper has been back for some time now, look at the walls in any TV show, movie, advertisement, image gallery. The evidence speaks for itself.

We had a home recently that sold - got our asking price, and the folks who purchased the home complimented us on the wallpaper in the dining room and in our bedroom, which also was added to our master bath (partially). The style of it is important.

Let's hope not. It's so bulky and clumsy. I much prefer the clean look of painted walls.

I make the argument that wallpaper is not coming back in style. When a house is wallpapered when new buyers view it the agent always says that it can be removed. This is also a common trend on remodeling shows. They always tear down wallpaper and paint the walls. Wallpaper becomes dated too quickly.

I do not believe that wallpaper is coming back in style because when my son and his wife were selling their home every realtor asked them to remove all of the wallpaper. It seems that no one wants it now.

Yes, wallpaper is coming back into style. You will notice in a lot of new homes and model homes there are papered walls in the kitchen and bathroom, much more subtle patterns than those from the 1970?s, but it is still wallpaper.
