Tuna is actually very good for dogs. Most seafood, including tuna, contains fish oils that help a dog to maintain a glossy, healthy coat. Indeed, most dogs are capable of eating the vast majority of regular foods with no ill effect.

Giving your dog tuna won't hurt him, although low-sodium, water canned tuna is better for dogs. But the tuna you gave him won't hurt him, but it's possible that he could have a little diarrhea because the tuna is rich. I have given my dog tuna before, he loves it, and he's perfectly fine.

Tuna is a fine source of protein for dogs. The only problem to occur would be due to the salt content. Offer plenty of water.
