Is there such a thing as an increase in rabbit hair shedding post neuter surgery?

Yes. The surgery can result in alterations of hormone levels in your rabbit. This could possibly result in greater shedding. In addition, shedding may result from the stress of the surgery or the vet experience itself. If the shedding is severe or persists, it makes sense to consult a vet.

Not that I have seen. I'm sure all rabbits like anything else are different unto themselves and given the nature of the surgery it doesn't affect the amount they shed.

There is no proven evidence that shedding occurs more after neuter surgery. If a rabbit is experiencing more shedding after surgery it may be because he is not being brushed enough. A rabbit should be brushed once a week. if he is not, he/she will shed.

I do not think there is any increase in shedding. My bunny was neutered when he was a year old. There was no noticable difference in the amount of shedding he had before and after the procedure. The amount shed seems more based on the temperature/weather.

Hair shedding after any surgery or any stressful event (moving, going to a show, etc. ) is common in rabbits. If it continues or is excessive, contact your veterinarian for advice.

Yes. Rabbits have a tendency to have adverse reactions to anesthesia, and often lose fur after having surgery. It should clear up on it's own within a few months.
