Yes. If one is collecting unemployment and there is a time period for which this person is ineligible to do so, one can schedule an interview with the Employment Development Department to clarify the situation and thus refrain from illegally collecting unemployment.

Yes. They will ask if you are still searching for employment, how many interviews you had, how many attempts you had, and whether or not you received a new job. You must answer the phone interviews to continue receiving unemployment unless you want to do the interviews in person at the unemployment office.
