No, having hazel eyes myself, I know that the term hazel applies to eyes that contain a mix of browns and greens - lovely woodland colors, but sadly no blue. Maybe your friend thinks hazel is a term that means your eyes contain more than one color, and she has other shades besides blue in her eyes.
